# What to Expect on a Squamish Jet Boat Tour

Booking your first jet boat tour on Howe Sound? Here's the short version: expect a fast, open-air ride through a glacier-carved fjord, close-up chances to spot local wildlife, and a small-group experience led by captains who know these waters. Here's everything else you'll want to know before you book.

## How long does a tour run?

Tour length depends on which trip you book (2-5 hours). Plan to arrive 15 minutes before departure for a safety briefing and gear fitting.

## What the ride actually feels like

Howe Sound is one of the few true fjords in North America accessible this way — steep granite walls, waterfalls, and open water that shifts from glassy calm to a bit of chop depending on wind and tide. Our jet boats are built to handle that range comfortably, with open sightlines so you're not looking through glass for photos or wildlife spotting.

## What you might see

Sightings vary by season, but Howe Sound is genuinely active water. Depending on timing, guests have spotted harbor seals, bald eagles, and — during the right months — humpback whales and orcas passing through. No sighting is guaranteed — it's wild water, not a zoo — but the terrain and marine life are the reason people come back with their cameras full either way.

## What to wear and bring

- Layers — even on a warm Squamish day, you'll pick up wind and spray on the water
- A waterproof or water-resistant jacket
- Closed-toe shoes
- Sunglasses with a strap, and sunscreen
- A dry bag or waterproof phone case if you're bringing a camera or phone

## Weather and cancellations

Howe Sound's weather can shift quickly, and safety comes first. We'll always reach out ahead of time if a call needs to be made — you won't show up to a cancelled tour without notice.
